Mitabi Jarnach was a team leader and member of the Garrison in Trost District. He was one of the Garrison's top three elite soldiers who fought in the battle to retake Trost.
Mitabi was a tall man and had a short crop of black hair and a very short beard. He wore the typical Garrison uniform.
Mitabi was often seen around Ian Dietrich and Rico Brzenska, usually nervous or doubtful of the situation. Though initially terrified, he lured a group of Titans away from Eren Yeager when he was carrying the boulder by yelling at them, hinting that he was not a total coward.

Mitabi Jarnach in the story: Mitabi and his team are among the soldiers assigned to protect Eren Yeager on his mission to plug the breach in Trost's Wall created by the Colossus Titan. Once Eren loses control of his Titan form, Mitabi concludes that Eren is no different from the rest of the Pure Titans and he and Rico Brzenska decide to pull their teams out of the mission. Ian Dietrich refuses to give up, and orders Mitabi to take his team and defend Eren from the approaching Titans.
